Our Story
1996 – Afan Lido Kickboxing & Karate
Founded by the late Shihan Ritchie Noblett 8th Dan, a pioneer of British karate and full‑contact kickboxing, widely regarde as one of Britain’s’ finest Karate exponents.
2009 – Legacy Continues
After Ritchie’s passing, his top student and former pro fighter Mark “Blue” Watkins takes the helm, evolving the club further and quickly began producing national champions.
​2014 – WKO Is Born
Blue formalises the organisation as Welsh Kickboxing Organisation (WKO), later becoming full‑contact coach for WAKO GB & Top Ten UK and began leading the GB Ring Sport team on the global stage in both K1 and Full-Contact Kickboxing, consistently producing multiple European and World Champions.

​2023 – WKO Cardiff Launch
British K‑1 title‑holders Thomas Bowen & Alannah Bale establish the Cardiff branch, bringing world‑level experience to the capital.
